Haverfordwest County 0 – Penybont 0
It finished goalless in a keenly contested clash between Haverfordwest County and Penybont played at the LHP Stadium, Carmarthen on Friday evening.
As a result of this goalless draw, the Bluebirds have slipped from top to third in the table, but on same points as new leaders Cardiff Met and second placed Bala Town, whilst the Bont are two points behind Bluebirds in fourth spot.
Despite the disappointment of picking up a draw Tony Pennock’s men are still unbeaten from three games, the Rhys Griffiths’ Bont outfit are also unbeaten with one win and two draws.
The best of the action in front of goal fell to the Bluebirds as midway through first half Lee Jenkins’ header from inside the area stemmed from a well delivered Ben Fawcett cross fell into the clutches of Bont goalkeeper Adam Przybek.
Eight minutes before the break in form Ben Ahmun’s glancing header lacked power at the near post. On the stroke of half time Kane Owen’s set piece found the head of Venables which resulted in a comfortable save for Bluebirds’ keeper Zac Jones.
On the hour mark the visitors pressed forward which allowed a shot from distance by skipper Owen. Minutes later the Bluebirds players appealed strongly for hand ball as referee Ben Williams waved away the protests.
Six minutes from full time substitute’s Owain’s snap shot was denied by an excellent diving save by Przybek.
